Your responsibilities in a few words:

Develop tax strategies that align with the organization's financial objectives and ensure compliance with tax legislation - Provide advice on tax planning initiatives and the potential tax implications of operational decisions - Ensure compliance of all federal, state and local tax regulations - Oversee the preparation and filing of all required tax returns - Monitor developments in tax laws and regulations and evaluate their impact on the organization - Oversee preparation of tax provisions - Coordinate with finance and accounting teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of tax reporting - Identify potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate them - Support the organization during audits and inspections by collaborating with external auditors and tax authorities - Identify opportunities for tax savings, credits and tax incentives - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to structure transactions and business activities in a manner tax efficient - Manage a team of tax professionals, providing them with advice, training and coaching - Set performance objectives and provide regular feedback to support the professional development of team members - Respond to requests for tax information, tax notices and represent the organization during tax audits and inspections - Collaborate with internal teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making - Provide tax advice and support to other departments as required

Your strengths for this position:

  • DESS in taxation
  • Hold a J.D. or LL.B. license and be authorized to practice law and be a member in good standing in any jurisdiction in Canada (assets)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of taxation
  • Significant experience in international taxation, leading reorganization or tax optimization projects within large organizations
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in tax compliance software and financial systems
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing tax strategies
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Skill in project implementation and decision-making
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Bilingualism: English required and French optional
