Your responsibilities in a nutshell!

Open employee files in the payroll management system – Produce payroll in the payroll system – Follow laws and policies related to the company's collective agreements – Follow up on the approval of timesheets - Pay various social benefits - Prepare the documents required upon termination of employment - Perform retroactivity calculations when signing new collective agreements - Make the various deductions from salary, process taxable benefits, ensure remittance to the various organizations concerned and produce the relevant reports of these remittances when necessary - Distribute end-of-year tax documents - Collaborate in the creation of earnings and deduction codes, program them for balancing entries between the payroll software and the accounting software - Ensure that social benefits and group insurance are reconciled each month - Act as reference to payroll for employees - Prepare salary and benefits files for the administration for budget preparation - Prepare files at the request of the Human Resources department - Complete buyout or retirement request forms for employees - Correct files following the transmission of the annual declaration from Retraite Québec - Work closely with management on all payroll-related files - Review the system's automated journal entries, ensure that the accounts of the GL are accurate, reconciled to the payroll registers - Carry out the reconciliation of salaries and marginal profits in the general ledger - Perform other related accounting tasks related to payroll in order to help the team in the end of closing cycle month - Respond to requests for information from various organizations (Group Insurance, Revenu Québec, Canada Revenue Agency, etc.) associated with social benefits

Your assets for this position!

  • DEC in accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in payroll
  • Experience in writing related to the accounting of payroll, and analyzes or reconciliations of payroll data extracted in Excel format (asset)
  • Be a member of the ACP (asset )
  • Familiarity with unionized environments (asset)
  • Master the Office Suite (Intermediate Excel)
  • Knowledge of SOFE and Virtuo systems (assets )
  • Good sense of communication, collaboration, analysis and organization
  • Bilingualism: express yourself clearly in French (spoken and written)
