The challenges that await you

As a member of the management team of the Finance Department, you coordinate and control all financial and budgetary activities of the City in accordance with laws, policies, and regulations. You develop and propose financial and fiscal strategies to ensure sound management of public funds. You are responsible for the budgeting process and the investment plan, financial planning, budget coordination and monitoring, and the evaluation of all processes and activities related to the planning and monitoring of the operating budget and the investment plan.

In collaboration with the Director of the Finance Department, you establish action plans for all activities in your sector, apply principles of continuous improvement, and are constantly on the lookout for best practices in your field of activity. You ensure the acceleration of the service's modernization based on the responsibilities that fall to you. You align objectives and directions according to a philosophy centered on the managerial, employee, and citizen experience.

You lead, develop, coach, and evaluate your employees towards achieving the objectives set in a posture change aimed at a partnership with client services. You will promote your employees' engagement to achieve high standards of excellence and develop their skills. You will lead a team of about twenty employees including managers, professionals, and white-collar workers.

You participate in the organization, direction, and control of financial, material, and human resources for your entire sector. You are responsible for the following processes: preparing the budget and ten-year projections, budget monitoring, the three-year and ten-year capital plan, and you participate in long-term project planning.

Demonstrating excellent adaptability, you will distinguish yourself through your partnership approach and participative leadership. Your interpersonal communication skills will enable you to develop and maintain strong relationships.

The ideal profile for us
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting sciences or any combination of training deemed equivalent;
  • Hold a graduate degree in management or business administration (MBA) or public administration (MAP), an asset;
  • Be a member of the CPA order;
  • Have a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience including solid management experience;
  • Have experience in the municipal field, an asset.
