Accounting Analyst | Outsourcing Location: Montreal Job Type: Permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week Work Mode: Hybrid Salary: between $72k and $80k depending on experience + annual bonus (10% to 15%) Recruited by NexWav = trained and certified in AI. We are currently looking for an accounting analyst to join the outsourcing team of a rapidly growing Quebec accounting firm. In this role, you will act as a true conductor for a portfolio of diverse clients. You will coordinate the work of the accounting resources assigned to the mandates, ensure the quality of the financial information, and maintain a direct relationship with the clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone coming from a senior accountant, assistant controller, or controller role who wishes to develop their advisory role, participate in process improvement, and evolve in an organization offering real advancement prospects. What you will do Take charge of a portfolio of clients from various sectors Supervise the complete accounting cycle of assigned clients Coordinate and review the work of clerks and accounting technicians assigned to the mandates Perform or supervise month-end tasks Prepare and analyze monthly or quarterly financial statements Present financial information to clients and answer their questions Identify discrepancies, issues, and opportunities for improvement Follow up on deadlines and hour budgets Participate in the preparation of budgets and various management reports Take charge of or review payroll depending on the nature of the mandates Supervise tax returns and year-end obligations Prepare the information required by external auditors Participate in the integration of new clients Document, improve, and automate accounting processes Respond to ad hoc client requests Train and support the accounting resources assigned to your files The integration into the portfolio will be gradual. You will start with a few existing files, and then new clients will be added according to your level of autonomy and progress. Desired Profile Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent training Minimum of three years of relevant experience Strong mastery of the complete accounting cycle Experience as a senior accountant, assistant controller, or controller Experience in a firm or in an operational business environment Good mastery of preparing and analyzing financial statements Ability to manage multiple files and priorities simultaneously Understanding of hour budgets and the profitability of mandates Basic knowledge of payroll Very good command of French Functional English to communicate with some clients Good mastery of Excel Knowledge of QuickBooks Online or Zoho Books considered an asset Interest in continuous improvement, automation, and artificial intelligence Ability to clearly communicate financial information Autonomy, rigor, and organizational skills Availability for occasional travel to clients On the human side We are looking for a structured, proactive person who can keep a good overview of several mandates simultaneously. You must be comfortable communicating directly with clients, asking the right questions, and quickly raising issues when a deadline or budget is at risk of being exceeded. You appreciate variety, enjoy improving ways of doing things, and wish to evolve in a small company where your contribution will be visible. You are also comfortable delegating, giving feedback, and collaborating with teams located outside Quebec.
