Responsibilities — full accounting cycle, cash management, and management advice
Maintain the books in the ERP and oversee daily bookkeeping to ensure reliable and up-to-date data.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, then present clear analyses of results and variances to management.
Manage entries, reconciliations, month-end processes, and the general ledger, and structure year-end documentation.
Monitor cash flow (bank activity, financing needs, variances) and upgrade cash tracking tools and routines.
Supervise accounts payable and receivable (invoicing, collections, payments) and strengthen controls around payments.
Reconcile inventory to the general ledger and maintain records consistent with operational reality.
Guide and review the work of the assistant controller, then formulate concrete financial recommendations to decision-makers.
Profile sought — essentials for a successful handover and quick delivery
Have 5 years or more of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on experience in the full cycle, financial reporting, and month-end processes.
Master an ERP and demonstrate an excellent level of proficiency in Excel.
Have supervised accounts payable and accounts receivable, in a context where invoices are few but complex and distinct.
Work comfortably in French and English, in a primarily English-speaking environment with government requirements in Quebec.
Demonstrate autonomy, discretion, and practical judgment in a small team context.
Communicate clearly with non-financial personnel and integrate with patience and diplomacy with decision-makers of varied styles.
