NV-10The Governance and Performance Department is a cross-sector department within the Property and Casualty Insurance IT Division. It acts as a bridge between the Property and Casualty Insurance business sectors and the IT sector that supports them.The department intervenes at the divisional level regarding aspects such as the implementation of and compliance with orientations relating to IT risk management and regulatory compliance, as well as the oversight and integration of cross-sector initiatives and performance indicators relating to information security.As Senior Advisor, Coordination of Cross-sector IT Risk, Compliance and Security Initiatives, you make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives that require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business.Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with a large number of stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. You therefore need highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to engage others in order to achieve targeted results on schedule.You demonstrate analytical skills while being dynamic, action-oriented, proactive and able to work under pressure. Furthermore, your curiosity and problem-solving skills are of undeniable value. With a constant focus on organizational alignment and performance, and especially on providing added value for members and clients, you naturally influence your colleagues in a constructive manner through your position.

General Information on the Position

More specifically, you lead, advise and support stakeholders and produce content. You mainly work on cross-sector projects aimed at ensuring that the compliance, operational risk management and security requirements are ultimately met.

Main responsibilities

  • Identify the cross-sector initiatives for which contributions from the division are expected

  • Ensure that clear expectations, objectives and timelines are formulated, and confirm the relevance of the division's contribution in relation to its context

  • Coordinate the ownership of initiatives by the appropriate teams in order to deliver results on time and with the level of quality expected

  • Maintain an integrated perspective for the division of the ongoing and future cross-sector initiatives, and submit a report about them to executives

  • Serve as a facilitator and provide daily support for the leaders of cross-sector projects to foster compliance with timelines and a speedy response to issues

  • Handle ad hoc tactical initiatives stemming from management requests

  • Set up high-quality relationship channels with the cross-sector teams of Desjardins Group and those of the division that are key stakeholders in the execution of the initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience

  • Project management / coordination experience

  • Experience in information technology

  • Experience in a role requiring a strong ability to see the big picture and to be thorough
