We drive results by placing our customers first, making the better choice, acting courageously, and believing everyone belongs.This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.The Compliance and Regulatory Risk Management Department ensures compliance with the regulations of Bank and its subsidiaries and offers the required support regarding regulatory risk management to business units and business lines, as well as to members of his or her business unit.The Regulatory Risk Management function is a part of the second line of defence at Laurentian Bank Financial Group (LBCFG). The function maintains, enhances and oversees key programmes to ensure LBCFG's compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and to support the business in managing its regulatory risks


The Regulatory Compliance Team is looking for an individual who can support the Regulatory Compliance Framework overall, with specific accountability for privacy within the Bank. The incumbent will report to the Senior Vice President Regulatory Risk Management in this role and will have the following accountabilities:ºOverseeing and monitoring the development and implementing of compliance program strategy, and more particularly the privacy program;ºEnsuring compliance with regulatory requirements and privacy practices;ºPrepare and participate in Regulatory Risk Management reporting to committees;ºCollaborating cross-functionally with technology and business stakeholders to drive, track, and resolve all aspects of privacy compliance readiness and procedures that ensure effective privacy practices;ºInterfacing with external auditors to facilitate audits;ºParticipate in committees or internal and external activities; represent the Bank among various organizations and bodies;ºPlay an active role in different projects and mandates that could have an impact on profitability and efficiency;ºMaintain up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and the Bank's policies, programs and procedures;ºFormulate recommendations and propose solutions to improve work processes;ºAct in a regulatory advisory role to support managers and business leadership;ºMaintain up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and the Bank's policies, programs and procedures;ºAct as an ambassador of the Risk Management & Compliance function by being accessible, accountable, available and collaborative; ºAct as project management compliance subject matter expert on a variety of regulatory topics including Regulatory Compliance Management and others as required;ºKeep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes;ºResolve complex regulatory and business problems, including potentially interacting with regulators and clients;


ºUniversity degree or diploma in a relevant field, combined with more than eight years of experience in compliance in the financial service industryºMinimum 6-8 years of work experience in privacy risk managementºExperience with developing and implementing privacy programs, including interaction with executives, adversaries and regulatory personnelºKnowledge of banking and privacy laws and regulationsºExperience providing commercial, regulatory and policy advice in the areas of data protection, privacy law and other areas of information lawºExperience reporting privacy specific risk metrics to Committees, Senior Management, and the BoardºExperience with developing and implementing privacy programs, including interaction with executives, adversaries, and regulatory personnelºAbility to address complex and challenging issues and communicate effectively with business leaders at all levels to optimize risk management, productivity, and communication.ºAbility to work in a dynamic, hands-on, fast-paced environment and respond to questions from business areas and a complex subsidiary organization.ºStrong research, synthesis, analytical and organizational skillsºOutstanding ability to work autonomously, think critically and make decisionsºGood working knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)ºExcellent knowledge of English, spoken and written with knowledge of French (spoken and written), is an asset.
