NV-09As a financial performance and financial monitoring advisor , you help design, institute, update, analyze and monitor strategies and solutions related to income and expense accounting. You help structure and track financial results, produce budget forecasts, invest in pension plans and improve financial performance. You advise and assist clients and partners as part of intervention and development initiatives. You recommend solutions to improve or optimize standards, policies and programs. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work. You prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on the organization’s objectives and priorities. You help solve complex problems using your analytical skills and extensive knowledge of your line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in other fields. More specifically, you will help monitor portfolio companies.

Additional responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze financial information on portfolio companies (initial forecasts, audited monthly and annual financial statements, budgets and revised budgets)
  • Perform financial analyses on portfolio companies, including carrying out discrepancy analyses, providing explanations for discrepancies, and ascertaining additional information from the investment manager
  • Make a decision on the file’s risk trend, assess the banking situation, the burn rate and the number of months of liquidity available, and monitor the financial ratios
  • Help prepare monitoring reports on portfolios, performance indicators, etc.
  • Inform the individuals concerned (Financial Monitoring team, managers and investment managers) of any analysis results indicating deviating trends
  • Enter financial analysis comments in portfolio company monitoring reports
  • Participate in projects to improve the team’s processes, operational efficiency and analytical tools

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • Four years of relevant experience

  • Hold a Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CMA, CGA or CA) (an asset)
  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required
