Our mission is to find new early stage investment ideas that generate higher financial returns for our institutional clients.To support our expanding operations, we are looking for an Equity Trading Assistant in our Montreal or Toronto office to assist our Institutional Equity Trading team..

Responsibilities

ºAssist the Equity Trading desk with trade processing;ºEnsure the proper settlement of Equity transactions; ºManage and reconcile internal inventories; ºUpdate the daily trading block list and heat map;ºAmend documentation of existing customer accounts and opens new accounts;ºResolve settlement problems on a daily basis;ºPrepare various trading reports for management;ºAct as contact between Equity group and other departments of LBS;ºManage special projects;

Qualifications

ºUndergraduate or graduate degree in finance and/or Economics;ºSuccessful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH);ºTrader Training Course (TTC) is an asset;ºEnrollment in/or successful completion of CFA would be an asset; ºStrong work ethic and ability to take initiative;ºKeen interest in the financial markets;ºThe ability to set priorities and balance deadlines;ºPrior work experience in the investment industry or trading desk is an asset;ºSelf-starters who learn quickly and excel working with others;ºHigh familiarity with US and CA settlement procedures (DTC/CDS) and with operational software used for settlements (ex: Omego, SSCNet, CTM)ºFluent English (spoken and written) /Bilingualism required for Montreal.
