With pan-Canadian activities and a presence in the U.S., the Group is an important player in numerous market segments.This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.The Advisor, Compliance, assists in the implementation of anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing (AML/ATF) activities within the Operational Risk Management and AML/ATF team for the Governance, Risk and Compliance, Personal Banking business unit. The incumbent reports to the Manager, Compliance, AML/ATF Risk Management.


ºKnow and understand the AML/ATF regulations and be able to apply them in a banking context.ºPromote compliance with the Bank's AML/ATF standards and the importance of preventing, detecting and deterring money laundering and terrorism financing.ºParticipate in various team activities related to AML/ATF.ºOffer any needed support to the Personal Banking business line and act as an expert on AML/ATF.ºReview and analyze high-risk and very-high risk clients by conducting relevant research and documenting the work performed in the SAS-CDD system.ºAs part of the enhanced screening process or when the situation requires, conduct transaction analyses.ºCoordinate and support the sales force when business relationships are terminated with clients deemed very high risk from an AML/ATF standpoint.ºFollow up on various activities and ensure that deadlines are met.ºPrepare AML/ATF reporting. Understand, analyze and compile the required data. ºAssist in drafting the team's procedures.ºDraft various reports and analyses for the CAML/ATF support office.ºCollaborate on a regular basis with the CAML/ATF support office and the Financial Crime and AML/ATF team.ºPerform any tasks of a similar or general nature requested by his/her superior or required as part of his/her duties.


ºBachelor's degree in a related fieldºTwo to four years of relevant experienceºBilingualism (spoken and written French and English) ºExperience in banking ºAbility to work in a fast-paced environment ºExcellent spoken and written communication skillsAssetsºCAMS certification (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist)
