With pan-Canadian activities and a presence in the U.S., the Group is an important player in numerous market segments.This temporary role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.The Advisor, Regulatory Risk Management, is a key resource for the second line of defence team responsible for administering the enterprise-wide compliance programmes of Laurentian Bank Financial Group (LBCFG).

Responsibilities

ºSupport second line of defence compliance testing activities (independent testing and quality assurance reviews). Provide reasonable assurance thatcontrols are in place and are designed and operating effectively to ensure compliance to laws and regulatory requirements and to LBCFG's standards. ºEnsure proper documentation of findings and supporting work. Verify work was completed in line with testing methodology.ºLead or support desk reviews / prepare questionnaires to first line compliance on topics assigned.ºEnsure that entries in the Regulatory Risk Management System meet RRM standards and provide effective challenge where required to ensure the system is maintained and updated appropriately. ºThrough the maintenance of the RRM mailbox and RRM system, help other business units with their enquiries on regulatory matters, action plan follow-ups and various other matters as needed. ºManage information generated or sent by business units (e.g., issue tracking, action plans, training, 1st line self-assessments, responses to second line compliance testing performed, etc.)ºSupport the preparation of materials for the annual attestation of the Chief Regulatory Risk Management Officer.ºMaintain RRM system, share-drive, share-point and mailbox.ºProactively monitor, participate in and contribute to various enterprise wide regulatory initiativeºSupport governance initiatives to enhance current processes within the team to ensure levels of organization, oversight and audit trails are maintained.ºPerform all tasks of similar or general nature requested by his or her superior or required for the job

Qualifications

ºUniversity degree in a related field and minimum two years of relevant experience on a risk management team within a financial institution.ºExperience in Internal Audit in a bank or financial institution.ºExcellent knowledge of English; knowledge of French is an added advantage.ºAll other combinations of education and experience may be accepted.ºAutonomous and proactive with sense of initiativeºConsiderate, tactful and works well with others as part of a teamºRigorous and thoroughºTimely and quality deliveryºHigh integrity
