Desjardins Capital boasts more than 45 years of expertise, $2.6 billion invested in over 530 businesses, a growing team of 100 professionals established across Quebec and 8 funds under management.As a financial disclosure advisor, you help prepare, analyze, disclose and monitor financial statements for Desjardins’s financial, statutory, regulatory and strategic reporting.You advise and assist clients and partners as part of intervention and development initiatives. You propose solutions to improve or optimize standards, procedures, controls and tools. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work.You prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans based on the organization’s objectives and priorities. You help solve complex problems using your analytical skills and extensive knowledge of your line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential.

More specifically, you will work in the areas of financial disclosure, financial plans and accounting for specialized investments for growth capital. Using your strong understanding of management agreements, investments and accounting standards, you will produce financial statements and other statutory reporting for funds. You will also ensure that the internal controls and processes concerning financial disclosures remain current.

Main responsibilities

  • Perform, validate and analyze accounting and financial transactions in a timely manner while ensuring that data is complete and compliant with the organization’s accounting policies and standards

  • Carry out specialized analysis and make recommendations to develop best practices for the organization

  • Ensure compliance with regulations, financial governance rules, and tax and accounting standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience

Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Holding an accounting title CPA (an asset)
  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required

Specific knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of CDM (an asset)
  • Knowledge of ACCPAC (SAGE 300) (an asset)
  • Intermediate proficiency in spoken and written English
