NV-08As an actuarial and statistical analyst, you help ensure profitability and balanced risk-return ratios for products and services. You also establish reserves and produce statistical models that inform decision-making and analysis of problems and business opportunities for corporate actuarial initiatives.You analyze and help diagnose issues. You provide opinions in accordance with the rules for your discipline and help develop recommendations and implementation plans. You develop tools, methods and processes. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work.You share ideas and help solve problems using your analytical skills, extensive knowledge of your line of business and ability to manage complexity. You interact with stakeholders working in other fields.You provide discipline-specific support to your unit, clients and partners.

Additionnal responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis by using various data sources, draft reports and recommendations, and provide advice on the implementation of these recommendations to meet the needs of the commercial lines sector, within the actuarial team and for other sectors (sales, marketing, underwriting, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development and update of data environments, dashboards and other tools for data use and consumption
  • Help validate and document data environments, reports and tools, as well as information governance
  • Participate in collecting and prioritizing the needs of the commercial lines sector
  • Interpret the sector’s business needs and interact with claimants to agree on solutions that adequately address their needs
  • Represent your sector in the execution of certain mandates and projects, and interact with partners in carrying out these mandates
  • Develop and update computer tools to assist with specific tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (computer science, actuarial or similar)
  • A minimum of two year of relevant experience
  • Experience in or knowledge of the general insurance sector (e.g. property and casualty insurance agent)
  • Experience in and knowledge of programming and a data management tool (an asset)

Specific knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Independent speaker, upper intermediate knowledge of English
