Your responsibilities in a few words!

Prepare reconciliations of company general ledger accounts - Comply with company accounting policies and procedures - Prepare and review internal financial reports and presentations with internal stakeholders - Follow key internal controls over financial reporting - Identify potential process improvements to create efficiencies - Assist in the accounting review of large, complex and/or non-routine transactions - Communicate related financial impacts to the management team - Collaborate on special projects that will have accounting implications - Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of existing processes - Prepare quarterly and annual reports required by Canadian securities commissions and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for consolidated company operations - Compile month-end checklists - Assist other team members during the quarterly and annual close process - Lead internal controls of the above-mentioned processes in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements (SOX) - Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits - Prepare quarterly and annual reports required by the group

 

Your strengths for this position!

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant discipline
  • Hold a CPA designation
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in this role and/or in an accounting firm
  • Knowledge of SAP, US GAAP, TM1, Business Warehouse and Workiva tools (assets)
  • Understanding of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) framework and GAAP
  • Comfortable with the Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Bilingualism: knowing how to express yourself in French and English

Your primary task will be to prepare financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), in Canada and the United States.
